The Somali ostrich (Struthio molybdophanes) is the smallest ostrich subspecies, inhabiting the arid and semi-arid regions of the Horn of Africa. Its distinctive blue-grey neck and legs make it easily identifiable. Unfortunately, habitat loss, hunting, and egg collection threaten its survival, leading to its Vulnerable conservation status.
