The camp is in a private concession on the Ngamo Plains, with unique scenery and impressive year-round game viewing, with a great diversity of wildlife. 

Enjoy your stay in the open-air thatched main lodge, tented accommodation, viewing decks, a waterhole, splash pool, and evenings around the fire. Your days unfold as you wish, each experience is tailored to your interests and the friendly guides ensure you get the most out of your stay.

The main lodge is traditional safari style with an open-fronted thatch building and adjoining viewing deck that overlooks the lodge waterhole. There is a bar, lounge, and dining area, and spa treatments are available on request.

With a variety of room types, this camp suits everyone from honeymooners to families looking for a wild and wonderful experience. There are four room types which include one thatched bungalow, four tents at ground level with veranda, five tents on raised deck and one suite.

Activities include game drives and walks, night drives, a viewing hide, family activities, as well as a host of community initiatives. The Elephant Express is a unique railcar that offers you the chance to travel between lodges (Bomani & Camelthorne) in comfort while enjoying the sights en route.

Please note this camp may be closed between December and April, depending on the weather. Please check with us for availability during these months. Additionally, please be aware that the Elephant Express service does not run between January and April.

This luxury camp is nestled on a lush palm-dotted island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta. Located at the edge of a lagoon, this tented safari camp is surrounded by clear waterways flowing over yellow sands and past palm-fringed islands teeming with birdlife and game. Delight in some of the best game viewing and bird watching in some of the most luxurious surroundings in the Delta. The camp has eight large safari-style tents with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy exquisite dining in the treehouse-style main area, relax in the beautifully decorated lounge and bar spaces or marvel at the stunning sights from the viewing deck, which benefits from views of both the grasslands and the Delta. There is also a relaxing sun deck with a refreshing swimming pool. The camp has an exclusive use "camp within a camp," while still allowing access to the amenities of Shinde's main camp. The three tented accommodations on elevated teak platforms overlook vast papyrus and reed expanses dotted with palm islands. Ideal for families or small groups of up to six people. Please ask for details. All game activities are accompanied by a guide who will escort game activities: morning, afternoon, and evening game drives, game walks, mokoro canoes, and motorboats. Well-equipped delta craft can take you to see fascinating breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans, and storks. There are also walks to show you insects as well as a wide variety of bird life and small mammals.

This unique safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience. Camp Okavango’s main area comprises of a network of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, a library, a self-service bar and a curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower-level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings. There is a third deck with a rim-flow swimming pool and a thatched lounge deck for those warm summer days. These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​
