A Safari Adventure and so much more
Kenya, a jewel of Africa, beckons with its iconic landscapes, abundant wildlife, and vibrant cultures. This unforgettable destination offers an adventure for every traveller.
Picture yourself on safari in the Maasai Mara, witnessing the raw power of nature as lions stalk their prey and elephants roam freely. Or perhaps you'd prefer to relax on the stunning beaches of the Indian Ocean coast, soaking up the sun and swimming in crystal-clear waters.
Kenya's national parks are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, with incredible opportunities to spot the Big Five. And with a pleasant climate year-round, there's never a bad time to visit.

Our Quick Guide to Kenya
Getting Around
We always recommend and arrange transfers by road, light-aircraft flights or scheduled domestic flights, to connect the National Reserves and lodges into the best Safari itineraries. Access to Kenya is mainly via either Nairobi (for Safaris) or Mombasa (for beaches but also some safari itineraries). Unique to Kenya, we also offer "Rail Safaris", where you can start your journey in either Mombasa or Nairobi, and travel to your Safari destination by train.
About Safaris in Kenya
You’re in the home of the Safari and the word means "journey" in Swahili. The various National Reserves offer excellent game viewing, and one of the beauties of Kenyan Safaris is that they can take in several areas and reserves and a variety of lodges. You can choose from a short "taster safari" to longer more in-depth itineraries and, whichever you select, you’re sure to spot incredible wildlife and jaw-dropping scenery. Wherever you stay, you will experience Kenya's famous and genuine hospitality.
A great experience unique to East Africa Safaris is that your driver from start to finish of your Safari is your guide, tracker and ranger. They will delight in sharing all their knowledge of the bush with you, and even between lodges, will take you off the beaten track to explore the wildlife and habitats you are passing, never missing an opportunity to spot beauty spots, games, birds and other wildlife.
The timings shown in safari itineraries are approximate and will vary according to road conditions, weather and traffic volumes. Whilst the appearance of wildlife is expected, as with anything natural it cannot be guaranteed.
Lodges, Hotels and Beach Resorts
What you can expect in Kenya lodges is a full board arrangement where breakfast, lunch (either at the lodge or a picnic) and dinner are included in your stay. The Safari operator undertakes additional activities, such as game drives, while the lodges may offer other activities, such as astronomy evenings, cultural visits, etc.
Around the beaches of Mombasa, you will find the hotels are more resort-like, with sports equipment and facilities, dive schools, and some offering traditional all-inclusive arrangements.
Due to the nature of the destination, our offering includes city hotels, Safari lodges and beach resorts and hotels. We choose carefully, prioritising the luxury of experience over unnecessary amenities. We carefully rate hotels and lodges using our "Tent Rating", which takes in the overall accommodation offering, service and quality of experience. See a description of the rating in each accommodation listing.
When is the best time to visit Kenya?
Kenya enjoys a pleasant tropical climate, and there are 2 distinct weather patterns to consider - Interior and Coastal:
Interior:
The dry seasons, from late June to October and January to February, offer ideal conditions for wildlife viewing and beach holidays.
The wet seasons, from March to May and November to December, bring lush landscapes and fewer crowds, but travel can be challenging due to heavy rainfall.
Mombasa and Kenya's coastal regions enjoy a tropical coastal climate with warm temperatures year-round.
The best time to visit is during the dry seasons, from December to March and July to October, when you can expect sunny days and less rainfall, ideal for beach activities and water sports.
However, even during the wetter months, showers and rainfall usually give way quite quickly to sunshine.
