This unique safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience.

Camp Okavango’s main area comprises of a network of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, a library, a self-service bar and a curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower-level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings. There is a third deck with a rim-flow swimming pool and a thatched lounge deck for those warm summer days.

There are eleven intimate safari suites and one Family suite consisting of two bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi, fan and tea and coffee-making facilities. Each of the guest suites has been built on individual raised wooden platforms and set beneath the thick Okavango Delta vegetation. For stays of 3 nights or more, enjoy a night sleeping under the stars with a night for 2 on the sleep out deck.

Activities include bird watching, boat trips, game drives, fishing, and walks as well as the most memorable Okavango trip exploring the waterways in a traditional mokoro.

Dead Valley Lodge is in the heart of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, offering excellent access to the iconic Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei. The lodge provides an unforgettable escape into one of the world's most extraordinary landscapes. Surrounded by towering red dunes and rugged mountains, you have breathtaking panoramic views, it's the perfect base for exploring the desert, and is just a short drive from the entrance gate, allowing early access to see the sunrise over the dunes. These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​
