Okavango Delta

This unique safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience.

Camp Okavango’s main area comprises of a network of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, a library, a self-service bar and a curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower-level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings. There is a third deck with a rim-flow swimming pool and a thatched lounge deck for those warm summer days.

There are eleven intimate safari suites and one Family suite consisting of two bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi, fan and tea and coffee-making facilities. Each of the guest suites has been built on individual raised wooden platforms and set beneath the thick Okavango Delta vegetation. For stays of 3 nights or more, enjoy a night sleeping under the stars with a night for 2 on the sleep out deck.

Activities include bird watching, boat trips, game drives, fishing, and walks as well as the most memorable Okavango trip exploring the waterways in a traditional mokoro.

Periwinkle Guest Lodge is situated on Beachy Head Drive, in Plettenberg Bay, directly across the road from the Robberg Blue Flag Beach, a safe swimming beach.  The Lodge is on three levels and has breathtaking views of the famous Robberg Peninsula, the Tsitsikamma Mountains and the sea. There's a wellness centre and sauna as well as a restaurant and a small gym. The fantastic deck is the ideal spot to relax with a drink and watch the sun go down. These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​

It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.
