Desert Rhino Camp

Damaraland

You'll have an extraordinary adventure at Desert Rhino Camp, located in the heart of Namibia's Damaraland. This remote offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience the magic of the African wilderness while contributing to the conservation of the critically endangered black rhino.

Surrounded by the vast and arid beauty of the Damaraland, the camp provides a truly authentic safari experience. You can go out on game drives, guided by expert trackers, in search of the elusive black rhino. For the ultimate encounter, join a walking safari and experience the thrill of tracking these magnificent creatures on foot.

The camp itself is a blend of comfort and wilderness. The eight stylish and spacious tents are set on wooden platforms and have en-suite facilities with solar-heated. Relax by the pool, unwind with a refreshing drink, or simply soak up the breathtaking scenery. The dining room is also under canvas and has a large dining table where everybody eats together.

Beyond the thrill of wildlife encounters, Desert Rhino Camp offers a chance to connect with the local community and learn about their deep-rooted culture. Immerse yourself in the magic of the African night sky as you gather around the campfire, sharing stories and experiences with fellow travellers.

How our Tent Ratings work

These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.

It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.

To summarise our grading system, we have considered the following.
