The hotel is located right in the heart of Franschhoek on Huguenot Street and just a few minutes walk from many award-winning restaurants, shops and galleries. The village is known as the gourmet capital of South Africa and the hotel will be delighted to assist with ideas for sampling the best the area has to offer, whether that be winery tours, visits to the weekly market, hiking trails or even meeting "Pigasso", the famous pig artist! 

Facilities include a spacious and beautifully appointed guest loung, a swimming pool and a lovely sundeck. 

There are just eight superior rooms and each one is air conditioned and has television, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, Wi Fi and safe. Ground floor rooms have private patios, whilst upper floors have a balcony. There is a restaurant and bar, where lunch and dinner can be arranged, all soft drinks and house wines are included.

This charming hotel has been created from two historic buildings on the seafront of the capital Stone Town. Much of the original architecture has been retained, giving you a feel of the feel of bygone days. The whole of Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and exploring its winding streets is a must. 

You’ll find a swimming pool, a fabulous rooftop terrace restaurant with views of the bay and the bar is a great place to enjoy traditional music when there’s a visiting band. There are a range of health and beauty treatments available. Local sightseeing can be arranged with the hotel if you want to explore. 

The rooms are decorated in authentic style and are all air-conditioned with television, WiFi, room safe, minibar as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel is set in beautifully landscaped gardens, surrounded by lush coffee plantations, and enjoys stunning views of Lake Duluti. The hotel’s 42 rooms are stone cottages that are spread across the grounds, offering a sense of privacy and seclusion. Each room is tastefully decorated, with a television, a safe, tea and coffee-making facilities and Wi-Fi, all with a balcony or terrace that overlooks the lake or gardens.

You can enjoy a range of activities. The serene setting of the lake offers canoeing, birdwatching, and nature walks, where you can explore the surrounding forest and spot a variety of bird species and other wildlife. An attractive hotel located a short distance from the city centre which is around a 10-minute walk away where you’ll find markets and a selection of restaurants. The friendly staff and bright décor make this a popular place to stay before or after a safari. 

You’ll find a swimming pool, restaurant, bar and gift shop, if you don’t want to head into town there is a restaurant which is known for its Tanzanian dishes as well as international-style food. There’s a pool bar and lounge bar if you fancy a tipple. 

The 29 rooms are all slightly different in terms of style, size and décor but all have air conditioning, television, and room safe and are well equipped for your pre or post-safari stay.

These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​
