Located in Arusha, the starting point for the majority of Tanzania safaris, the hotel offers a very comfortable start to get you in the safari mood. The hotel has fabulous views of Mount Meru, the second-highest peak in the country and is only 45 minutes from Kilimanjaro Airport and 20 minutes from Arusha Airport.

There’s a good range of facilities with a choice of restaurants and bars, a swimming pool and a gym. The hotel is very close to Mt Meru golf course and the large gardens are home to an array of birds and butterflies.

The comfortable rooms are all air-conditioned and have television, tea and coffee-making facilities, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge and a room safe. If you’re returning from safari there’s a laundry service to freshen up your clothes.

It is an ideal location if you want to explore the area and its famed hiking trails to suit all abilities. The region has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and getting out and about to see the mountains, flora and fauna is a must.  There's plenty on offer for families with good facilities for children. The hotel even has its own helicopter if you fancy a birds eye view of the area. There's a dining room and bar with an outside terrace, children's playground, 9 hole golf course, swimming pool and wellness centre. The major attractions here are the great outdoors and with a huge selection of hikes and walks on offer you'll be spoilt for choice. The spacious rooms are located in the hotel's gardens and have mini fridge, television, ceiling fan, heating, and Wi-Fi as well as tea and coffee-making facilities.

These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​

It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.
