Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a distinctive and luxurious safari destination located in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Kenya, adjacent to Tsavo West National Park. The lodge is famously built on stilts, with elevated walkways connecting circular rooms that resemble traditional Maasai huts. This unique architecture allows you to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the nearby waterholes from the comfort of your room. The waterholes are a central feature of the lodge, attracting a wide variety of wildlife throughout the day and night, offering guests the rare chance to observe animals up close. Elephants, buffalo, zebra, and antelope are frequent visitors, and you may even spot lions and leopards.

The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, where the lodge is located, is a private conservancy that offers a rich diversity of wildlife within a relatively small area. The sanctuary is home to over 50 species of mammals and 300 species of birds, making it a prime destination for both game viewing and birdwatching. The sanctuary's proximity to Tsavo West National Park also allows you to explore one of Kenya’s largest and most iconic parks, known for its dramatic landscapes and large elephant herds.
