Lower Zambezi

This camp has earned itself a strong reputation over recent years and for very good reason; it was completely re-modelled in 2018 and the rooms are large with a modern, almost minimalist feel to them, but with a distinctive feel of the bush. Each one is open and airy with great views of the Zambezi and a private plunge pool on the deck in front.

The camp comprises 7 luxury rooms and the Kigelia House which is of the same style but is a 2-roomed unit with a shared sitting / dining area between the two bedrooms. 

The pristine Lower Zambezi National Park is superb and big game such as elephant, hippo, buffalo and big cats are seen regularly in and around the camp! This is a very exclusive camp where the emphasis is on making sure the guests are well looked after.

Activities include the usual game drives and walks as well as all the river activities. The camp is very close to the Chifungulu channel which is ideal for canoeing.

"Safari All Inclusive" is all meals and drinks (excluding premium brands). Varying lodge to lodge, this mostly consists of an early snack breakfast before 1st game drive, full breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or cakes, dinner and drinks and snacks on game drives. This luxury camp is nestled on a lush palm-dotted island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta. Located at the edge of a lagoon, this tented safari camp is surrounded by clear waterways flowing over yellow sands and past palm-fringed islands teeming with birdlife and game. Delight in some of the best game viewing and bird watching in some of the most luxurious surroundings in the Delta. The camp has eight large safari-style tents with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy exquisite dining in the treehouse-style main area, relax in the beautifully decorated lounge and bar spaces or marvel at the stunning sights from the viewing deck, which benefits from views of both the grasslands and the Delta. There is also a relaxing sun deck with a refreshing swimming pool. The camp has an exclusive use "camp within a camp," while still allowing access to the amenities of Shinde's main camp. The three tented accommodations on elevated teak platforms overlook vast papyrus and reed expanses dotted with palm islands. Ideal for families or small groups of up to six people. Please ask for details. All game activities are accompanied by a guide who will escort game activities: morning, afternoon, and evening game drives, game walks, mokoro canoes, and motorboats. Well-equipped delta craft can take you to see fascinating breeding colonies of herons, egrets, pelicans, and storks. There are also walks to show you insects as well as a wide variety of bird life and small mammals.

This unique safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience. These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​
