There are incredible rocks formations, cave paintings, bursts of wild flowers and a landscape that is home to a fascinating eco system of small creatures scarcely seen elsewhere.

A stay here includes all meals and a choice of two activities daily - chose from a day or night time nature drive, sundowner tour or rock art tour. There's also a swimming pool, spa and a restaurant, bar and outside boma.

The rooms are quite unique and set into the rocks and known as "Cave Suites" and have air conditioning, private shower room and a terrace. There are also "Hut Suites" which are a little larger and suitable for families.

How our Tent Ratings work

These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.

It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.

To summarise our grading system, we have considered the following.
