Musekese Camp
Musekese Camp
Kafue National Park
Located in the North East section of Kafue National Park, there are several ways to get to the camp - from Lusaka you can take a flight to Lufupa Airstrip which takes around an hour and fifteen minutes with an onward transfer of about 30 minutes, alternatively, you can make a road trip from Lusaka which takes between 5-6 hours. Access by air is also possible from Livingstone (Victoria Falls), Mfuwe, Jeki and other airstrips.
With just 5 rooms which are all spacious and comfortable, they all have en-suite flushing loo and on-demand hot water showers. The power is all from a solar system and the main area has plenty of surplus power 24/7 to keep all your devices fully charged and drinks ice cold.
Activities include, game drives and walks, boat safaris, bird watching, canoe safaris, and treehouse hide. The wildlife viewing is excellent, and game numbers and the quality of sightings have improved exponentially year by year, thanks to increased protection and concerted efforts by the team. All the major predators and present and there is a particularly good chance of seeing leopards and lions. Elephant herds are always seen, especially in the dry season months along with the plains game. There’s excellent birding too, with hundreds of species recorded in and around the area. The best period for birding is in either the green season or the months immediately before or after the dry season.

How our Tent Ratings work
These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.
It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.
To summarise our grading system, we have considered the following.
High in both quality and luxury of experience, and property must have ‘wowed’ us on many levels.
This is our benchmark for excellent service and experience, location and /or activities.
Good relative value, excellent location and/or experience, and offering an ideal base for exploring the area.
Budget-focused stopover property, sometimes it’s the ideal location on a driving itinerary.
Don’t be put off, these stays are comfortable and a perfect pit stop on a journey where the choices may be limited.
