The lodge offers a blend of comfort and nature, the setting is truly breathtaking making it the perfect stop either pre or post your adventures in Namibia. The lodge's prime waterfront position provides stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere.
Unwind by the pool, surrounded by lush gardens, or indulge in a relaxing massage at the on-site spa. For fitness enthusiasts, the lodge offers a well-equipped gym. After a day of exploring, savour delicious local cuisine at the lodge's restaurant, while the bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner.

Each room is spacious and airy, with air conditioning, a coffee station, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Wake up to the sound of birdsong and enjoy breathtaking river views from your private balcony. The lodge sits on 6500 hectares which is home to 19 different species of game. Explore on foot in the company of one of the experienced and knowledgeable guides, (walks last up to 2 hours). Alternatively, take a morning or afternoon game drive through the reserve. The views are superb, the flora varied and the game abundant. Nineteen different species roam the reserve, including Oryx, Kudu, giraffe and wildebeest. Leopards and cheetahs are also seen from time to time. The drives last around 2 to 3 hours.

Garonga is ideally positioned in the greater Makalali Conservancy, west of the Kruger National Park. This private nature reserve boasts the Big 5 and you can take part in the morning and afternoon game drives. In between activities, you can simply relax in the hammock with a good book while watching the grazing impala. You'll find a bar, restaurant, pool and spa as well as a whole array of activities. Activities include Bird Watching, Game Walks, Gourmet Picnics, Sleepouts and much more. There are six tents overlooking a dry riverbed, and have a wooden deck complete with hammock that commands spectacular views. These are based on our personal experience of the hotel, camp or lodge and should not be compared against ratings you find elsewhere. We intend to guide you and don’t be put off by a low tent rating as some of our favourites fall into the 2 and 3-tent categories.​

It is also important to bear in mind that standards vary from country to country and a 4-tent hotel in South Africa cannot be compared with a 4-tent hotel in another part of the world.
